THE GIRLS FROM THE FORUM
Lyn in the pink top, Me (Ronnie) in the lace top, Trish in white shirt.
This crazy quilt was absolutely gorgeous and my apologies for not writing down the exhibitor's name. It is just spectacular. We were not allowed to take pics of the international quilts - sorry :(
OUR DAY AT THE AUSTRALIAN QUILT CONVENTION
27th January, 2006 - It was a hot and steamy day, expected temp 38 degrees but storms and wet weather due. So the humidity was high and my "power surges" were making me uncomfy.
After picking up Lyn Brumby on the way into the city, chatting all theway into town we arrived at "Jeff's Shed" (The Melbourne Exhibition Centre) just after 10am and met Sharlee 52 and Trishj - Sharon and Trish.
The ice was quickly broken by chatting in the queue, we then waltzed around the stalls and into the quilt area to view some of the spectacular exhibits in the Convention. We met up with Ted-Scout, Trisha and then back to shop out the bargains. I bought some gorgeous oriental fabrics and couldn't keep my fingers out of the button trays. Lyn and I checked out all the quilting machines and am impressed to say the least. I just need another room to put it in - Oh and the money to pay for it.....
The Aussie quilt exhibits were gorgeous but I must say some of the International exhibits just grabbed me and I couldn't stop looking at the workmanship in them. Spectacular to say the least.
I have taken some pics of the quilts and us girls so that you can put a name to the faces you talk to on the forums.
Hugs from
