I received this in the mail yesterday - isn't it beautiful and a popular swap on the Handmade Forum. It was made by Maureen Curlewis, who is a very clever lady. I'm not sure if there's a story but here's my interpretation. Maureen will let me know how close I am in reading her postcard.
The blue/pink "batik" look background could be a lovely sky at dawn or a stormy sky at dusk and the lace motif in the centre could be clouds over the dusty dry mountain ranges below it.
