AND THE CHARITY QUILT BLOCKS KEEP COMING
Thanks also to Belle from my favourite craft forum, for your blocks. They are lovely and the colours great. I am absolutely amazed that the amount of blocks that have been received not two are the same nor has any two patchworkers used the same fabric. All are different and unique. Thanks so much Belle.

THE NUMURKAH PATCHWORK GROUP CHARITY QUILT BLOCKS

Ladies your Patchwork Group has outdone itself - you should be commended and my thanks are sincere when I say THANK YOU GIRLS FOR SUPPORTING THE STAWELL QUILTERS.

I am just the pawn in between and passing these blocks along. A few of you may have thought I am part of the Stawell Quilter's Group, not so girls as I really would be having a fit by now if all these blocks were to be made into quilts before Winter for those in need. To date with your fabulous donation (all pictured below) there has been 105 blocks received. 35 Charity Quilt Blocks were previously forwarded to Stawell Quilters and I now have another 70 to post. I'm humbled by your generosity I really am.

FORUM FRIENDS MEET 23rd April, 2006
Brian & Linda Mangini - Queen Victoria Market
Hi All - who read my blog.
Today was a special day. I picked up Ted (Trisha) and Lyn and headed into the city centre to pick up our interstate visitors, Linda and her hubby Brian. We showed them a little of marvellous Melbourne by driving over the Westgate Bridge both ways and then back toward Melbourne on the Bolte Bridge. Big scenic views of the Yarra River and the CBD - you could even see as far as the Macedon Mtn range where Ted and I live. Thanks Ted for the directions or I would have got us totally lost - right Lyn B - we got lost in the city on a previous occassion. (giggle)

Cultural Dancers at the Victoria Market

We strolled up and down the isles in the Queen Victoria Market after that scenic drive and found free entertainment. The dancers were bright and happy and the music was toe-tapping (and loud) but I didn't find out which country they were representing. I think it was a South American country but can't be sure.

Linda & Ronnie standing, Lyn & Ted (Trisha) sitting

We asked Brian to take this photo of us four forum friends. No Ted is not taking her pulse, I think she is showing us her new beaded bracelet that Lyn made her in a previous swap. Gorgeous Lyn.

Ronnie & Ted - Lyn & Linda

After the morning at the market we dropped Lyn, Linda and Brian at the Royal Melbourne Zoo for a pleasant afternoon strolling around. We did ask Brian not to go to close to the Chimp cage, he may be mistaken as a missing member. Hope you had a lovely time there Lyn and Linda - due to another commitment Ted and I had to get going home.

Brian & Ted, Lyn & Linda

It was a lovely day out and thanks Linda & Brian for sharing it with us. Ted kept us laughing and giggling like girls do and Brian we do hope we weren't too silly. It was a pleasure to meet you both. Thanks also to Lyn's DH, Mick, for picking her up at the Zoo later in the day.

Hugs to all

Ronnie

I certainly hope these thanks are being passed on to you and your friends at your sewing group - as I've sent all of your addresses with your blocks to the Stawell Quilters and wonder if they will acknowledge the great effort of everyone involved.

AND THEY KEEP COMING !! THANKS EVERYONE
It is such a pleasure to receive so many great blocks from ladies all over Australia. The Stawell Quilter's will be so excited to receive this pizza box, which doesn't even close now and has to be tied up with string. There is 51 blocks ready to post on to them - soon after Easter, as there a few more expected in the mail.
I can't begin to thank you for your donations of time, effort and fabric ladies.
Pam Hook's Charity Quilt Blocks - received 13-4-06

More Charity Quilt Blocks from Pam Hooks - 13-4-06
Pam Hooks is from Numurkah and a friend of Spooky - who has generated such a lot of the blocks received to date. Thanks Pam, much appreciated and so generous of you to do 7 blocks.

Received from "In Stitches" Quilting Group 13-4-06

More blocks from the "In Stitches" ladies.

The "In Stitches" Quilting Group are from Victor Harbour in South Australia. The ladies names are Lee, Donna, Liz, Naomi and Tarlee. I'm guessing Tarlee is our "Maltiquiltangel" from my fave craft forum. Thanks so much girls for your efforts - I hope you were "in stitches" making them and having fun. Your efforts are much appreciated and also very generous of you all.

SALLY'S BIG DAY TODAY
I thought Mum was taking me to her sewing group but she tricked me and dropped me at the Pet Shop to get my hair cut again. I hate that place, the ladies there are lovely but they tie me up and I'm usually so good - I don't need to be tied up. Then Mum left me. She did pick me up about 3.30pm and then I had a pat and chat with Mum friends and then a snooze on her woolly scarf 'cos silly Mum forgot how cold it was and I had NO HAIR....and no jacket.
Here's how I look today - see my little nipples - Mum says they're growing 'cos I'm having puppies now.

Here's me sulking cos I'm cold now.

LOOK AT ALL THESE CHARITY QUILT BLOCKS
ARRIVED 7th April, 2006
Ladies I am excited to tell you of the 8 blocks received today. 7 in the mail and Wendy's block at my sewing group. A special thanks to those who have supported their friends like Spooky's sewing group friends Barbara O'Brien and Elizabeth Rees. These blocks received were not expected and have been a thrill to receive such lovely work with complimentary little notes attached. The notes will be sent onto the Stawell Quilters Group who, as you know by now, are compiling the quilts for those in need.
Barbara O'Brien (Numurkah) Charity Quilt Blocks.
Barbara I do hope that you get to read my thanks to you and your sewing group friends. I really just don't have time to put pen to paper and thank the 30-40 people who have individually donated their time and fabrics to this worthy cause. Here's hoping Spooky will give you the link to this blog so that I am sure you receive the thanks you deserve. Much appreciated.

Wendy Hansted's Charity Quilt Blocks
Thanks Wendy for your efforts at sewing group today.

Linda's Charity Quilt Blocks (WA)
Linda another big thanks to you. 4 blocks is very generous and I know how much work you have on with all the swaps you are in. The fabrics are gorgeous and so is that "peachy gold crackle" border. Is that Spotlight fabric - I need some for my peachy stash.

Miss-Nance's Charity Quilt Blocks
Thanks Gail (Miss Nance from our forum friends) for your beaut block. I'm sorry I got them mixed up - all fixed now. That probably happened at sewing group today when my mail is put in for "show and tell". Is that Thimbleberries fabric used in the centre and border? Gorgeous.

MY OWN FIBRE POSTCARD
I received this in the mail yesterday - isn't it beautiful and a popular swap on the Handmade Forum. It was made by Maureen Curlewis, who is a very clever lady. I'm not sure if there's a story but here's my interpretation. Maureen will let me know how close I am in reading her postcard.
The blue/pink "batik" look background could be a lovely sky at dawn or a stormy sky at dusk and the lace motif in the centre could be clouds over the dusty dry mountain ranges below it.
Fibre postcard made by Maureen Curlewis - received 5-4-06
Leave your comments and tell me what you interpret.

CHARITY QUILT BLOCKS ARRIVED 6-4-06
These are blocks to arrive today and once again sincere thanks to everyone for such a great effort. Elizabeth Rees (friend of Spooky on the Handmade forum) has donated 6 lovely blocks and Tracy Watson (Belora on the forum) has sent me 4 great blocks too.
I will be holding off the post to Stawell Quilters as I know of more blocks arriving in the mail soon, so will post them all together - probably at the end of next week but before Easter.
Thanks sincerely ladies for making the winter a little more bearable to those who lost everything in the fires in their area earlier this year. Your donation will make a fabulous difference to them.

ANOTHER DRESS FOR THE BIRTHDAY GIRL
Pink Seersucker Fabric - completed 29-3-06

Here's a pic of another little pink dress made for our youngest grandchild, Billie-Anne. Her 1st Birthday is on 7th April and we will be visiting Benalla this weekend to see her and DD & SIL. It is made with a stripe seer sucker and looks very pretty - if I say so myself . As I haven't made many clothes for the grandies lately it is nice to enjoy making pretty dresses for the girls as we have 7 grandsons and only 2 grand-daughters.

Hugs

MORE CHARITY QUILT BLOCKS
More Thanks to everyone helping with the making of Charity Quilt Blocks for the Stawell Quilters. A big thanks to Judy Stewart who has enlisted the help of more friends from Caloundra Quilting Club. I expect the blocks from Marilyn T, Pat T and Marilyn Duncan are all your quilting friends Judy - Please pass on my thanks to these ladies from me and from the Stawll Quilters won't you.
I just wish I had a FQ of each of the fabrics used in some of these blocks as the fabric is just beautiful and it is so humbling to receive so many blocks from our Forum Friends but for their friends to also pitch in - that's just great and I can't thank you enough. A few other forum friends have mentioned that their friends will also help out too.
Denise and Jeanne are from my own sewing group and did these extra's through last week. We now have another 13 in the pizza box (35 have been posted already.) It is so pleasing to receive so many and more are due in the mail any day.
Hugs
